Which tastes best? We cannot decide that for you. Taste and texture are personal, and this guide is not based on a blind test or representative poll. We can help you choose a relevant flavour direction and conduct a clear trial of your own.

Choose a range before a flavour

Original and Sport have different recipes. Start with which range you want to explore, then compare flavours within it. Two bags called Chocolate do not mean the base or prepared drink is the same.

The range comparison shows differences on a clear serving basis. This page focuses on flavour choice, ingredient facts and describing your own impressions without confusing them with nutritional facts.

How to make a fair taste trial of your own

  1. Choose a question. Do you want to compare two flavours in the same range or two different base recipes?
  2. Follow each bag. Use each one's instructions and note grams, liquid, temperature and equipment. Do not change measurements just to obtain a desired result.
  3. Keep the occasion similar. Note how soon after mixing you taste and what you eat alongside it. If conditions differ, show that in the notes.
  4. Describe before choosing. Write your own words about sweetness, taste, mouthfeel and pieces. A preference is a personal judgement.
  5. Try changes separately. Milk, plant-based drinks, fruit or other additions create a different prepared mixture. Write what you changed.

The method above is a template for your trial. It does not report a test ComFoo has already performed. This page contains no sensory scores, winners or invented quotations.

Your own tasting card

Note range, flavour and version, your own words about taste, pieces and texture, and whether you want to try again. Also write grams, chosen liquid, temperature and timing. Use the same information for both samples when comparing two flavours.

Taste needs interpreting alongside preparation

What you drink is a mixture, not just a flavour name. Water and milk provide different contents and may give different experiences. Mixing one flavour with yoghurt and another with water does not isolate the powders' difference.

For the first trial, the mixing guide is the next step. To use powder in porridge or a jar, assess the finished dish as its own recipe, counting all ingredients.

What can you say after your trial?

“I preferred Raspberry with water on this occasion” is a clear conclusion. “Raspberry tastes best for everyone” is a different and much broader conclusion that one personal trial cannot support. The same applies to sweetness, fullness and how the recipe feels over an entire week.

Choose a flavour to try again and note why. If none suits, change flavour direction, read ingredients or choose other food for the occasion.

Common questions about choosing flavours

Is there a test winner here?

No. There is no documented blind tasting or representative survey naming a winner.

Does Neutral mean the flavour was tested as unsweetened?

No. The name and ingredient list are product information. Sweetness and other sensory impressions need trying; we have not rated them here.

What if no flavour suits me?

If no flavour meets your wishes, you do not need to choose one anyway. Read the ingredient information and consider another flavour direction or meal.
