What is complete oatmeal?
Oatmeal means oat porridge. Complete oatmeal is used, among other things, for oat-based breakfast products formulated to provide a nutritionally complete meal. It therefore involves more than adding a topping or extra protein.
For homemade porridge, ingredients and quantities determine nutritional value. A spoonful of meal powder does not automatically make the bowl a complete meal.
Make porridge with ComFoo
ComFoo is the base of our complete oatmeal recipes. Each serving uses 1 scoop of ComFoo (50 g), providing 200 kcal. This applies to both Original and Sport. Some rolled oats add structure, and fruit or berries provide flavour.
Here, 1 serving of complete oatmeal means a bowl with 1 scoop of ComFoo and the recipe's other ingredients. Oats, drink, yoghurt and toppings are additional to ComFoo's 200 kcal. Follow the packaging dosage when mixing an ordinary shake.

Recipe suggestions – not yet kitchen-tested. Original and Sport may give different textures; adjust liquid a little at a time. ComFoo's 200 kcal per scoop is not the whole bowl's energy content.
How to get the texture you want
Mix ComFoo with a little liquid before stirring into hot porridge. This helps avoid pockets of dry powder. Cook oats according to the packaging and stir in ComFoo afterwards, once the porridge has cooled slightly.
Overnight oats become firmer in the refrigerator. Save a little extra liquid to stir in before serving. Start with few additions: apple and cinnamon, chocolate and banana, or blueberry and vanilla go a long way.
Hot porridge or overnight oats?
Choose hot oat porridge with ComFoo for a quiet moment at the breakfast table. Choose overnight oats to prepare breakfast the evening before. Take the jar with you if desired, but keep it chilled until serving.
Want plant-based recipes? Choose plant-based drinks, yoghurt and toppings. Check ingredients in the products you use. Adapt quantity to your appetite and remember toppings and other additions change the bowl's nutritional content.
